The second ode to the adventures of Ghora Khar!

The Gems of Trazere

by Thal1959

In the mystical lands of distant Trazere,
Four crystal gems - possessed magic powers,
In the guise of a local, did Ghora appear,
To return the gems to their guardian towers.

Could anyone gather the gems of Trazere,
and receive from the land what victors revere?

Ghora Khar had collected, three tried and true friends,
a magic runemaster, an assassin and bard,
to slay evil hoardes, ere their conquest extends,
so far that the cities become open graveyards.

Could anyone gather the gems of Trazere,
and receive from the innocent what victors revere?

A quest from King Necrix, the great and respected,
sent the quartet of heroes to far Fagranc old,
its minions of foes were artfully detected.
A golden crystal to win, by a team strong and bold.

How could anyone gather the gems of Trazere,
and receive from its towns what victors revere?

Fagranc did fall, and the Dark Tower too,
the Balenhalm sewers, the Zendites of Moonhenge,
were purged by the four of their murderous zoo,
gaining gems for themselves; and for the fallen - revenge!

Would anyone gather the gems of Trazere,
and receive from the land what victors revere?

The demons of the Unshrine were brutally slain,
but first they gave knowledge for Ghora to assess,
for the honored King Necrix had gone wholly insane,
raising hoardes of dire evil for the gems to possess.

Could anyone win the four gems of Trazere,
and receive from the land what victors revere?

The dungeons of the palace, were the last battlegrounds,
where Ghora Khar and his three, fought the mad stricken King.
Once his minions were felled, in his blood - the King drowned,
while the gems in the towers loosed a defending wellspring.

Had someone gathered the gems of Trazere,
and received from the land what victors revere?

As the banners of black hoardes, disappeared from the land,
the towns of Trazere proclaimed sadly their story,
for Ghora Khar and his friends reached the time to disband.
Blessing Ghora with gold, and praising his glory.

Ghora gathered the gems of grateful Trazere,
and received from the land what victors revere!

Ode Poetry writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write an Ode poem. It is a poem praising a person, place or thing.

Ghora Khar is my computer game champion. Like Sinbad the Sailor, he has a legacy of adventures to his credit. As a hobby, I would take "print screen" images as I played each game and took notes, too. I would then write a story for each adventure and print each page on photo paper with the screen saves as images. Later, I decided to write an ode to the prowess of my computer game hero, Ghora Khar, for each of his ten adventures! I had already posted earlier his first adventure, "The World's Greatest Hero - of whom I alone know."

This one, "The Gems of Trazere," is his second adventure. In England, the game was simply called "Legend." (1992) Here in the U.S.A. it was called "The Four Crystals of Trazere." If you have played this game, the names might be familiar to you and might even bring back memories.
