A Ping-Pong poem ~ 3rd place contest winner

A chapter in the book Either It's Love or It Isn't

Lifeline

'Either It's Love or It Isn't' ~ #49-400-B-C
Spoken
words can last forever
Broken
vows disappoint, sever
Show me
the mettle you're made of
Sincere
or fluffy stuff, not love
Love grows
entwines for a lifetime
Or dies
unless thrown a lifeline

You called

We cried
While sharing deep heartaches
You said
Please come again for tea
And I
Knew it could never be
