Steam Train

by persevere

As the train approached the tunnel
A bellow issued from the funnel
The whistle blew and cinders flew
The locomotive slowed, then sped up anew

Further down the line it started to rain
The steam joined in, in a gentle refrain
The rhythmic click clack of the wheels on the line
Conjured up a song that would mark this time
