Acrostic poem about a lost love

Lost Valentine

by loismddavis

Vast years separate your face from mine
All time seems wasted because we're far apart
Left alone secretly suffering vast oceans of pain
Each Valentine memory a knife in my heart
Now though aged I long to hold my love again
The memory of our passion survives cruel time
I sought sweet death to learn you loved another
Never will I heal to wholeness during this life
Envy eats like poison of the one who is your wife
