A Lotus Can Grow

by June Sargent

Repetition Contest Winner
From the darkest waters a lotus can grow
Around the rocks a river can flow
To beat the odds a child can fight
to reach the top with all his might

From the darkest waters a lotus can grow
If given the chance a teen can show
that crushing poverty and abuse can't hold
him back from improving his life tenfold

From the darkest waters a lotus can grow
Whether infant or adult it's nice to know
that someone cares enough to nurture
our hopes and dreams for a better future

Writing Prompt
Write a poem of any type. It must have at least three stanzas. And one line in the poem must repeat in every stanza.
