The Seventh Deadly Sin
It's Your Pride You Can't Hide
When evil knocks upon our door
and turns our head that is for sure
and causes us internal pain
it's mostly you who are in vain.
The feeling deep inside your soul
that stops yourself from being whole
and understands you're less a man
who acts as though you always can.
Where mirrors take a center stage
and others seem to act with rage
to see that you who thinks your first
and drinks ahead though we do thirst.
Who push all others to the side
with same amount of your own pride.
But heaven pray you know this be
that you just are the same as we.
You gloat then bear the brunt when praised
but you are last when blame is raised.
If one's to hang for your own wrong
you will then hide than swing along.
You are alone in your own mind
and ever be the last to find
yourself to be the first to say
the faults not yours that you're this way
Humility's not your best trait
for you're the last to take the bait.
When trouble is knocking hide you will
and you'll be first around when ill.
You lack when being humble so
when others are you act as though
and play the game so very well
that others seem to hardly tell.
If mirrors were so put in fire,
you'd burn yourself when you admire
each every look upon your face
propriety is your disgrace.
So go and love yourself again
for you to us are less a man.
When you're then buried, gone to hell
remind yourself you rot as well.

There are many deadly sins but
I think the seven deadly sin, pride,
is one that I most favorably dislike.
Being in the music industry I've seen
pride all too often. It's like a sunburn
on your back and you don't know you
have it unless someone comes along and
tells you that you have a burn that is more
then on your back and it takes a while
for it to heal where you can show yourself
outside in the world again without being marked.
