A Broken Heart

I lay on the edge of this cold stone ledge,
recalling how you used me from the start.
Tears flow from my eyes, as I  make a  pledge
to purge the love for you out of my heart.


Watching tides rise reminds me of your lies,
 rushing in my life, ready to impart...
Alone, I was left with tears in my eyes -
to purge the love for you out of my heart.


The healing begins, true love lies ahead,
 ...all memories of you will soon depart
I must move on and  forget what was said -
to purge the love for you out of my heart.


I lay on the edge of this cold stone ledge
