Bits and Pieces

The bits and pieces of everyday life
Jagged moments that cut like a knife
The daily battles of worry and strife
Have little effect when I give God control

When bits and pieces of a broken dream
Have totally destroyed my self esteem
My only light shines its lowest beam
God leads me on to set a new goal

When bits and pieces of pain and regret
Fill me with memories I'd rather forget
Tears could drown me, but not quite yet
The love of God heals my tattered soul

I previously posted two poems, My Tunnel Sees the Light and Gods Greatest Gifts with this same style. I made it up as a challenge to myself. The first 3 lines must rhyme and they have to be the negative aspects of the poem. Then the last lines in each stanza must rhyme and they reflect the positive. I hope someone will give it a try. Would love to read it!
