Sail Me Away

by foxangie123

I want to sail so far from right here,
flap in the wind drinking a cold beer,
captain operating the direction steered,
long as his boat takes me far from here;

The sun melting by the pound,
weighed warmth I've not found,
the clear waters waving around,
while flipping me upside down;
Not receding back to the tide,
till I'm ready to return from where I hide,
coming back at the front of its bow,
soaring through the water making rounds.

My thumb is up hitching a ride, seaside,
I want to go this time not being left behind,
ride those waves as they draw the sandy line,
close my eyes and just listen to a world blind;

The sun weighing me down pound by pound,
as the waves splash over the sides all around,
in and out, far away in the ocean making rounds,
sail so far from right here where anchored down,
stow me away, captain, steer me from the ground.
