a diatelle

midnight butterfly

by judester

You
entwine
with my mind.
So comforting,
that sweet hum, warm and kind.
Your voice in the night, to me brings
gentle flutters, midnight butterfly wings.
Though I couldn't see, in my lonely heart I knew.
A reunion, as you would softly sing.
In my dreams, the memory clings.
Sleep and death, a fine line.
Not frightening,
as it binds,
and finds
you.

Thanks to seshadri_sreenlivasan for the perfect butterfly. Sometimes when we lose someone, it is nice to think that they can whisper to us once again, in dreams.
