When I fall asleep
reality and make believe become intertwined
Impossible becomes possible
while the moon is lit
I can see the ruins of Pompeii
and then travel to the Brooklyn Bridge
in one night
Time does not exist
when it is a world made of my mind
I can converse with
people long in their graves
and look Christ in the eye
My world contains colors not seen
by any other human eye
I can fly with a dragon
and swim with Nessie
I can fall into the Grand Canyon
and not die
I can drown on the Titanic
and live to tell the tale
I can visit an old love
and remedy a regret
I can worry why the sun shines
and solve my problems
while my sleep is deep
and my breath is shallow
It all seems so real
