Memorial Day is very important to me
For all the heros that fight to make us free
Americans should never forget the fight they give
To give us all the dreams we daily live

My father fought in many wars as well
Waking up at night in sweat of dreams from hell
As a small child I could never fully understand
Because he always smiled while standing so grand

Americans need to remember the lives in distress
Of our people giving us so much to feel blessed
While each day our soldiers are never sure of the next
Feeling so strained scared often perplexed

To honor each of them in a special way
For fighting for us yet forced to fight and stay
I am so proud to live in my country and have the American dream
Together we all can make an amazingly strong team

Please always remember to pray each and every day
For the remainder of our team to return home in an honored way
