Two Become One By the Shore
                                                       by michael cahill

The sun falls fast, the moon is nigh--
the ocean roars.
‘Twas here we kissed and said goodbye
...there's always wars
to split young love in two. We knew,
(we thought) this not our last adieu.
Now, no one hears ... my crying pours;
the ocean roars.

Four years can twist the world awry,
dreams ... time ignores.
My soul cannot implore, or try
and settle scores
long left on bloody fields--along
with love that once was true--our song.
Hate drowns me, love no longer soars
... the ocean roars.

Late start, but I'm here!!!

Write an octogram.
TOPIC: At the Beach

See instructions below.

Octogram was created by Fanstorian Sally Yokom.
There are two stanzas of eight lines each.
Syllable sequence per line is 84848884 84848884.
Rhyme scheme is aBabccbB ababddbB. Capital B = exact repeated line.

The trochaic substitution in L7 S2, yeah, justified, yes?
