Natures Tribute To The Continent Of Africa

Under The African Skies

by Jonadab Ezerie

The lyrics to this poem to some may sound radical
Or maybe some may also find it hysterical
Listen to the tales without been stereotypical

Africa!! the 2nd largest continent that hosts 54 countries
And not a unitary country split into 54 counties
The issue about our fashion is often exaggerated
Not all from an African tribe walk around half-naked
Africa is where most Africans were born and raised
We don't engage wild animals in an endless chase
Warriors like Shaka Zulu would contend with a lion
But a good number of us would run to mount Zion
And the perception that we live in primitive houses is ridiculous
Only a few extinct tribes would find the notion fabulous

Africa, Africa, Africa

Where royal flowers fill the air with seductive fragrance
Where the colors of the rainbow shine with glowing radiance
Where the sun makes love to the sea and gives birth to glittering rainfall
Where we feel imprisoned by the night because nature prowls at nightfall

It's a land where the sequence of the seasons is unforgiving
Also, where despite the heatwave, God makes life worth living
It's a land where the temperature variation is vast
Also, where the dazzling snowfalls in the wintry blast
It's a land where all the delicacies of the seasons are a captivation
Also, where the beauty of the continent leaves you in veneration
It's a land where the chanting winds from the Sahara makes the rivers clap their hand
Also, where patient ears listen to the whisper of the winds in every grain of sand
It's a land where we search for greener pastures in desperate times of need
Also, despite the mineral reserves, there's always a hungry mouth to feed

Picture the hidden tales of Africa with your mind's eye
Listen to the hidden tales under the African skies.
