zanzibar beach party

Gatherings Contest Winner
Yellow moon peeps
creeping, discreet,
then come the stars
in a sparkling sheet.

Buried so deep
a primeval hum,
comes to the surface,
with fire and drums.

A young girl from Scotland
a couple from France,
wandering gypsies,
together, entranced.

Those ageless drum beats
under old skies,
if your spirit listens,
ancestral sighs.
