Changed conceived on New Year's Bed.

Will hope outlast...?

by royowen

Will hope outlast a loaf of bread,
or change conceived on new year's bed?
A fleeting cloud can block sun's beams-
can love still glow in shrouded dreams?

I've pondered much the thoughts of man
who cannot grasp the cosmos' span
or understand when birds in flight
abscond when summer's end's in sight.

How can we trust one promised vow?
When birthed in hearts whose pride won't bow.
Where can we find one truthful word?
When history's past makes trust absurd.

I cannot cling to man's false hope
as he descends destruction's slope.
There's just one hope my soul can find-
though men will hide --- pretend they're blind.

I can't pretend that I don't care,
when Jesus paid that costly fare-
should I give up and let you burn?
Yet I cannot -- I wish you'd turn.
I have no clue why folk won't ask
and hang on to...pride's poisoned cask.

1. Man still clings to false hope, somehow the world will stop terrorism, it cant be waged with conventional weapons, it's traditional hatred.
2. Politicians will risk their hides, and tell the truth, though they probably wouldn't get elected, these conditions It existed in Jesus time...
3. Will their be a solution to climate change? No consensus up to now...
4. If ordinary 'honest' men can can't keep a New Year's eve vow, how can a greater man do it?
John 3:19 " And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." KJV
