Who is in Charge

by foxangie123

A room without a sky,
no light does shine,
four walls with a blank ceiling,
cancer of hate not benign.

Fresh air can't circulate,
words unable to articulate,
a cold concrete floor,
darkness doesn't rejuvenate.

Area of consequence,
solitude sitting upon a fence,
victim within loneliness,
assigned circumstance.

Each block whimpers and cries,
tears of sorrow wishing it a lie,
nightmare when awake a relieving good bye,
if only a pair of arms could reach the sky.

Placement where one should be punished but safe,
tax dollars pay those to watch the gate,
there should be cameras watching every inch of the place,
still the worst of the worst hooks their bait.

In Ohio non-aggressive inmates are assaulted,
raped, beat, and held as prey,
extorting money from families who are weaker,
having loved ones that were caught with a joint incarcerated pay.

There is an elderly woman that her SSI paid,
thug prisoners to assure her grandson wouldn't be beat each day,
can't report it because some of the guards are in and this boy has been raped,
who is in charge and holding those wardens accountable,
time has come that the type of crime segregates.

True Story. I felt so sorry for her. Both parents of his were killed in a car wreck so she took charge of her grandson.
