The real meaning of Easter.

He has Risen

by Aussie

The stone was rolled away
The tomb, empty and cold
Mary Magdalene came to pray
Forgiven prostitute, woman bold.

"Where are you my precious Lord?"
A gardener, tall and spectre-like
Drifted towards grieving ward
Called to her, face now bright.

She reached to touch his face
Thinking he was a man again
He put her gently in her place
Told her he was not of men.

Not yet ascended to heavenly home
Mary knelt at his feet, praying hands
Her love for him would never roam
Tears of joy wet the sands.

"I have seen the risen man!"
Disciples were not so sure
Jesus promised to show his hand
Nail imprints for evermore.

Jesus loved his disciples well
They knelt to praise His name
He told them to go tell
People, sins forgiven; no shame.

Easter Contest Entry: When the stone was rolled away, the dead Christ was gone. Mary Magdalene had come to prepare the body of Jesus for burial ( usually later an ossuary) she was beside herself, thinking that his body had been stolen. She approached a gardener, and asked if he knew where the body was. Jesus replied "don't you know me, Mary?"Jesus had risen and Easter became the celebration of the Risen Christ. I have used a small 'h' before He rose to His Father. Easter eggs represent new life. Much has been lost as far as Jesus on the Cross. He is not the dead Christ - He is the Son of Man who died that we may be forgiven and given new life in Him. Happy Easter Fanstorians!
