Music In The Air

by bob cullen

There's music in the air and its different ev'ry day
Sometimes it stirs the heart, or it can take your breath away.
It can fuel your emotions, make you sing or choose to dance.
It can remind of love or a most tragic circumstance.

There was music in the air, 'twas a wild and wartime beat.
The invasion of Poland and the Poles were in retreat.
The world suffered total shock, Germany broke ev'ry law.
Churchill's on the wireless, advising: 'Britain's now at war.'

There was music in the air urging England's need to fight.
'We've got to save our Polish friends, peace is their given right.'
Five years on the war has turned, proper justice has been done.
The music rings new found peace, there's a sparkle in the sun.

There's music in the air and now it's time for us to play
News of peace has stirred our hearts and the fears have gone away
It has fuelled our emotions and tonight we'll drink and dance
Tomorrow's a long way off, so come join us take a chance

There's music in the air, joy's running rampant in the street
Men with brolly's raised are celebrating Hitler's defeat
Life will begin again, but we must not forget the cost
And every day say a prayer for those whose lives were lost

For me personally, this image was the most difficult so far. Well done Leineco.

Apologies for posting early. I woke at 3.00 am Aussie time and miscalculated. Sorry about that
