Dream Clouds

by Janet Foor

The alabaster clouds rolled high
Above the hills and far beyond.
One nestled o’er my garden wall,
Awaiting winds to float upon.

At times I wish that I could drift
Away from daily cares and woe.
Just like those clouds of brilliant white,
I’d glide to where the rainbows grow.

I’d gaze across this distant land
From mountain tops to sandy shore.
Then, in that world upon the clouds,
I’d find my love, my troubadour.

Through steamy splendor on that cloud
I’d lay my head upon his chest,
And snuggle there within his arms,
Content and feeling truly blessed.
