The Dolphin in the Moon

by mermaids

the winter moon is bright
an enchanted, yellow light

a silvery dolphin swims and smiles
the night sky expands for endless miles

a dolphin in the moon?
I watch her with wonder

stars twinkle amongst her form
from the sea, the sky is her home

winter is a season of cold
yet the dolphin in the moon
brings a happy mood
the heavens hold
many mysteries

a dolphin so free
she swims in a galaxy
