Back Country Snow

by Alice Lund

Back county snow, not a soul in sight
Except you, motor roaring, in the moon lit night.
Find a little glow from my cabin below.
Just follow it down through the driving snow.

Wipe away the rain from my window tonight
I'm alone inside and the fire is bright.
It's not very often that someone like you
Finds someone like me to watch the storm roll through.

Back county snow, not a soul in sight
Except you, motor roaring, in the moon lit night.
Find a little glow from my cabin below.
Just follow it down through the driving snow.

I've got a cozy blanket and some wine to share.
Curl up close beside me in my fireside chair.
When the storm blows over, I'll watch you pass on.
Wish you farewell, babe, in the snow-kissed dawn.

Back county snow, not a soul out there
Except you, in the mist of the mountain air.
I'll be your guide in the dark tonight.
Kiss you goodbye, love, in the morning light.
