Satan actively wars against Bible truth
A Bible Story The Devil Hates
by Deniz22
Here's one of the stories in the Bible the Devil especially hates. It's found in Luke 23:39-43 and has to do with the saving of the soul of a thief, rebel and Christ-mocker.
39 Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, "If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us."
40 But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, "Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong."
42 Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your
kingdom."
43 And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in
Paradise."
The Devil hates this story for at least 10 reasons;
#1. it reveals the love of God in all its fullness, ready to provide forgiveness and
eternal hope to the most unworthy of men in this life, not after.
#2. It reveals the love of God in righteousness, providing a payment for
trespasses at the cost of the life of the Son of God. The blood of Jesus paid
for our sins.
#3. It reveals the love of God in all its fullness, allowing a life-long sinner to
repent just before death
#4. It shows the power of Christ over death which enables Him to promise eternal
life immediately upon the conversion of a sinner.
#5. It shows if the most hardened of men will consider Jesus and the love which
forgave the very ones who ignorantly crucified Him, such a person can be
saved from Hell and fit for Heaven.
#6. It shows the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life do not first extract any
kind of vow; only belief in the Savior.
#7. It shows that once a person truly calls on the Lord for salvation from sin, he is
instantly forgiven and forever more belongs to the Lord.
#8. It shows that a person does not need to be baptized, belong to the right
church, take communion or make vows in order to rest in the promise of
Christ's words.
#9. It shows that if such a thief was saved like this, free and on the basis of faith
alone, this is the pattern of salvation for everyone. It is the GIFT of God, which
cannot be earned, deserved or kept by any worthiness or service to God.
#10. It shows if someone tries to get into Heaven in any other way than simple
faith in Christ, they are a thief and a robber, seeking to deny Jesus the glory
due the Son of the Living God. As such they show themselves to be children
of the Devil, whom Christ described as a thief and a murderer.
COMMENT: Friends, please consider well this Jesus. Life is short and our natural inclination is to run from the Righteous God, because we know inside we do not measure up. We are seeking to hide in fantasies, pleasures, philosophies...but none of them can keep our souls alive or ward off death. Jesus came to seek and save us...to know Him is to love Him...only He has the words of eternal life. Call on Him today, even as the thief did centuries ago, and found Him to be true.
