upon her long legs
she watches
as if on a mountain top
a presence so serene
her blueness enters
my inner being
she is the visible soul
of Cape Cod Canal
as I journey past her
on my walk
she devours a fish
ambles over sea
worn rocks
searching for more lunch
I stop and watch her
nature's gift of
beauty
