Life is paved.

With trepidation...

by royowen

With trepidation life is paved,
but from its ransom I've been saved.
For if one's skies were always blue-
how could we read the false from true?

If our paths were paved with gold,
could we perceive compassion's fold?
If folk deceived with kindness' face,
how would we know? There'd be no trace.

They've disappeared, those golden words-
to honour people seems absurd.
Why do we think new wisdoms reign?
Can thoughts of self, the dark restrain?

The Bible says put others first;
Lord Jesus one, then you'll not thirst.
With kindness, goodness, bless all folk,
then in joy's well-spring you will soak.
