A surprise
For Mum

My long drive up Highway 1 towards San Francisco had begun. Something I'd been hoping to do for more than forty years. Not that I could have known, it would be in California that I would do this particular journey.
I had found my real mother which she didn't yet know and now I was to see her.
I rang the bell and there she was. I started crying and looked into her questioning eyes.
