Don't Leave Me

by sweetwoodjax

Do not take your leave from me.
I'm not ready to let you go.
Listen to my heartfelt plea.
Do not take your leave from me.
Don't let death set you free.
You want to leave, this much I know.
Do not take your leave from me.
I'm not ready to let you go.

Poem of the Month contest entry

Thank you angelheart for the beautiful picture.

My husband was supposed to have an appointment for the doctor today. He sat me down and told me "You know I'm going to die soon, don't you? I am so tired of fighting. I can't handle going to the doctor's appointment today. He said he's ready to go to Heaven where he won't have to suffer anymore. I was crying as he was talking to me and he was telling me I was the best medicine for him right now. I have been fearful for him in the last few months, but this sounds like he's giving up. Please pray for Tom and pray for me to have the strength to handle what God decides. I love him so much. This hurts to write.
