Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
a final show

A Painted Face

Each day I see a sadness there
Set deep in eyes that do not care
There is no sparkle, not a glint
As for the soul there is no splint

A painted face, no truth at all
No knocking door, love does not call
I sit alone, await my fate
Knowing all the while, it's too late

So this facade, all of this prep
To aid me take the final step
Can't bear to see another dawn
Who says that "The show must go on"?
