Ugly Love

I'm an ugly, old man. It's not a subjective opinion; the mirror reminds me about the accident every day. Kids call me a freak, but beyond the grotesque scars, I'm still a man.
My beautiful wife died in the fire, and most days, I wish I had too. No one could ever love me, but I still have needs. Mary has been looking after those. She's really a stranger, no talk or real intimacy. She does her job and that's it, until one day, she actually kissed me.
"I hope your house has a picket fence," she said as she dressed.
