Casually dressed in plaid
button shirt and tennis shoes,
I thought the young man
was being quite a jerk.

Sitting at the table next
flirting with my wife.
Blatantly, looking her over
with those eyes,
the darkest hue of blue.

Finally, it was time
for him to go.
He waved to her
goodbye and toddled
on his way,
binky and sippy cup in tow.

I guess he was
a cute little guy
and not such a jerk.
