Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Or shades of grey.

Black or white.

by royowen

I care not if you're black or white-
or even shades of grey;
opinions don't amount to much-
they're just a donkey's bray.

A knowledge of eternity,
incumbent in each heart,
there's no excuse to beat our breast-
and say we dwell apart.

Just why we say it's all God's fault
we simply want our way,
we lay offence at Jesus' feet,
then peer through vapour's grey.

A righteous soul won't lift his eyes-
he knows the heart's deceit,
not God nor man, he'll ever judge,
won't live with blind conceit.

We say that faith is blind, can't see-
and then turn on the light,
expect the darkness flee the room,
does faith have different sight?

No man is born with strings attached,
he's steward of this earth,
he's free to choose, to maim or blame,
or love to bind his girth.
