four score and something
once worked
then
two score
in a rigged game
 
98 bottles of whatever
on the wall
always—
look into my eyes
sing the joyous song!
 
the high ground secure
armed and dangerous
glorious, victorious
 
sniper dreams now schemes
hilltops high-tops
penthouse telescopic
 
coyly philanthropic
injurious illusions
to the spurious masses below
 
impervious
to compassion's fashion faux pas
