Softly
I am transfixed as dusk arrives
by that gentle sigh between day and night
near my window, as I gaze, as if
sinking into sunset
freeing my weary soul from day's strife

Ambling hues glow in slowly descending horizon
ribbons the sky in rows of flowing pastels
beguiling, mystical symmetry, intricately meld
I, longing for that tingling dip into distant ocean

Such entranced radiance transmutes calm within
as if but a wink in the eye of glorious eternity
deepening peace flows in as I step out of
minds yesterdays
to silently, sweetly drawn breaths of tomorrow
