He'll love no More

The Nightly Wait

by mbagby23

Night skies have fallen
yet, he's not home.
The clock bird chirps
as midnight hits.
Patiently waiting
as she rocks in her
rocking chair.
Her hair done up
nicely in a bun.
She's even wearing her
white wedding dress.
The sounds of keys jingle.
Rocking suddenly stops.
Wind chills sweep in
as the door opens and he
steps in.
"Oh where have you
been?"
Her jaw tightens as she
looks away from him.
Walking closer towards her,
yet her face is still turned.
Standing right by her side he
smiles and reaches down for
a hug and kiss.
"There will be no kiss, but
a hug I will give."
She then stood up and put her arms
around him.
She ice picked him in his side.
Within a blink of the eye he
had fallen. On the cold floor
he lays. Blood slowing dripping,
Gasping for his
last breath.
She stood over him
with a gentle smile.
"No more late nights coming
home smelling like sweet honey."
Off with her dress she covers him and
walks right out the door.
