~Through The Years~

A Romance Acrostic

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Through the years much time has passed;
Hath withered quick, like winter's rose —
R emember, tho', we've made it last.
O'er every year our love still grows.
Unspoken words of loving linger,
Glide deftly through the gilded veil.
Hope, delicate as a lady's finger,
Tea cup in hand as she sets sail...
However, there's still work to do,
Even if the fire's not as strong.
Yearnings fade, dying embers, blue
Evermore – with you – I still belong.
As golden sunbeams break in morn,
Resplendently, your face adorn...
Starlings serenade our love in song.
Writing Prompt
Poetry and love have been synonymous since poetry was first invented. Your acrostic poem should relate to this subject. An acrostic is a poem which spells out a word or idea. Sometimes what it spells out is the the title of the poem itself. Usually the first letter of each line spells out this key word.
