You can toke marijuana, snort PCP.
Drop speed or acid, buzz like a bee.
Shoot up the hard stuff or sniff a little glue.
BUT you'll NEVER get it together till Jesus gets to you.

You can go to the doctor, you can go to the shrink,
go to the people who teach you how to think.
Go to the clinic; go until you're blue.
BUT you'll NEVER get it together till Jesus gets to you.

You can try all things, that Satan brings,
around for you to do.
But when your fun, is all said and done;
you find my words are true.

You can try, Hare Krishna, try Muhammad too,
try Scientology, with all they say to do.
Try meditation with your very own guru.
BUT you'll NEVER get it together till Jesus gets to you.

You can talk about the preacher, you can talk about the Saints.
You can talk about the deacons as you air out your complaints.
Talk about your neighbor and about your best friend too.
BUT you'll NEVER get it together till Jesus gets to you.

I have been a Christian Minister for over 30 Years. Don't be offended by the belief of the Christian Religion. "Get it together" is a Song/Poem that I wrote back in 1981 and always wanted to somehow someway get it out for a few people to read. It has finally been done.
