Just Today

by Walter L. Jones

When time was in books
We read

She cut my heart till it bleed
You open my heart and planted her seed
Walls open and they fall
Wonder what happened after all

Saw her opening sun
Walking children
Run let them run
Oven is warm

It is as it was
Wonder where
The bread combs
Have gone

I seldom do this but it is Halloween, Hansel and Gretel" (/Ë?hænsÉ?l/ or /Ë?hÉ?Ë?nsÉ?l/ and /Ë?É¡rÉ?tÉ?l/; German: Hänsel und Gretel[1]) is a well-known fairy tale of German origin, recorded by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812. Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by a cannibalistic witch living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. The two children save their lives by outwitting her.
