Ode For My Mother

by sweetwoodjax

With a disarming smile,
she could bring joy
just by looking at her.

Her laugh would
sound like a
chorus of angels.

She loved with
all of her heart
and showed compassion
to others.

When she was
disappointed, it
hung upon her like a cloak.

Whenever she cried,
I found myself
crying for her pain.

Her courage through
trials and pains of illness
encouraged those who knew her.

She didn't think
she had many friends,
but found many when she was ill.

Friends who took care
of us when she could not.
Prayers lifted up for her.

As she was on her deathbed,
she was encouraging us
to be forever strong.

Now that she's gone,
a void is left in the world
that can never be filled again.
