inside my head
the pain explodes
like firecrackers lit
red hot embers
in my brain.
I close my eyes
and see the kaleidoscope
colors as the room spins
crazy like a playground merry-go-round
I speak
but undigested food
spills out instead.
the weight of the heavy frozen gel pack
tied around my head
like Aunt Jemima's turban
keeps me still
in darkened room
and slowly begins
dowsing the burning fires.
