The Unspeakable Cloak

by Kingsrookviii

Despair wraps me in her warm blanket, sinking teeth.
Drawing floods of emotions of dark currants, below.
Above, no stars, no moon, no hope.

All is bleak and life itself, leaks by ebbing flow, lower.

Lower, still. Until pale fish swim in my blood pulsing
gone savage with times' ravishing ways.
To slow me toe to toe on a grey
slab and plant me six
deep, below
sea-level.

So, bevelled glass, that mind of mine may know comfort
where true darkness hath purpose and enough ticks toc's
to unlock all faults and keep them, solely out of
vaunted haste, not wasting me
just yet.

Light and winds upon my brow are your words, gentle breezes
across oceans, with distinct sound and smell. Your love saves me
from hell. So, for you I pay tolls each day, as I await your ship's
bell or klaxon of your spelling forth, deliver
my name to me.
