Caving For My Craving

by sweetwoodjax

As I stood in line
at the checkout counter,
my eyes caught sight of him.

Mr. Goodbar, without a single
word, tempted me and I fell.

I quickly bought him
and stuffed him in my purse.
Guilt followed me home,
but my temptation proved too great.

Locked in my bedroom later,
I peeled back his wrapping
and moaned in delight at the first taste.

I tried to put him down,
but my desire led me to
devour all of him, even
the crumbs stuck to the wrapper.

He was just the start
of my downfall. Chocolate
Kisses soon passed my lips.

Nine months later, I looked
in the mirror with great dismay.
I looked like I was ready to
give birth to Baby Ruth.

My wide hips and protruding
stomach had forced me into
my sweatpants. My fat jeans
no longer fit.

Depressed by my downfall,
I went next door to the Reese's.
Instead of helping me through
my chocolate craving, they
offered me peanut butter to go with it.

I thought the Three Muskateers would
come to my rescue, but they just
offered me a Milky Way.

My shame is now complete
and people Snicker at me
as I slowly walk by.
