It’s nobody’s fault but mine. Try to save

my soul tonight.

Devil he told me to roll.” - Led Zeppelin

“C'mon in, and bring all your friends,”
the Devil chided me.

“Forget your sin, you're gonna' win,
now just you wait and see!

Damn, the weather is warm down here,
it's really very nice.

But, don't dismay, you're on your way.
But still... there is a price.”

From 'neath his skin he pulled a pen,
and parchment I should sign,

“Don't you worry— there's no hurry.
Sign on the dotted line.”

His breath smelled foul, I will avow,
I wanted just to go,

“Now, don't you fret, because, I'll bet,
the fine print's caused some woe.

See, it's really very simple,
 a mere formality.

Quite simply said – when you are dead –
your soul belongs to me.

If fame and fortune's what you seek,
your work I will enhance,

blind the masses with dark glasses –
boy, here's your final chance!”

I stood shivering, quivering—
my hand just lingered there.

Yet, if I signed I'd be resigned
to life without a care.

But after death just where I'd go
was now what troubled me;

“Don't back out, man, I'll be a fan,
just sign—” he said—“you'll see!”

By now, you're probably wondering
if I had signed or not.

By writing this, I've been remiss,
put myself on the spot.

I'll simply plead the fifth, you see,
  and write without delay;

All I can say is turn away,
if next he comes your way!

Gen 3:1-5 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden?'" The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'" "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Matthew 16:26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

As always, thanks so much for reading.
