Spring in England

The Copse

by Eric1

Slow silver stream navigates its way,
Down through a copse, past homely house,
A place of tranquil rest for today,
Where all is quiet as a mouse.

Gazebo reflects in water deep,
Plunging waterfall gives great effect,
Ragged banks beneath a Poplar tree,
Where flotsam and jetsam collect.

Young budding leaves emanate from trees,
Dappling the carpet of marsh marigold,
A host of golden daffodils-please,
God's greatest creation, well controlled.

There in that beautiful morning dew,
Through leaves long rotted to feed the earth,
A deluge of snowdrops, poking through,
Lovely mother nature giving birth.

My beautiful England in early spring
Captured, created forevermore,
I hear the blackbird and songthrush sing,
In this beautiful landscape I adore.
