Community Prayer

by livelylinda

Loving God,

Our little church in the woods is carrying such heavy burdens today. We share the world's collective grief for those lives lost in an air crash, shot down by a missile. Our grief extends to those remaining relatives, for those whose daughters have been kidnapped, to those whose cities and homes are being bombed. The list seems to go on endlessly. But, WE are here, strong and tall, proud to be in your house and feeling so blessed to know you and to have you in our hearts. We are forever thankful for the many gifts which you have bestowed upon us, especially for the spiritual leadership of Rev. Jim and his partner, Al. They leave us soon to share their many gifts with another group of your faithful servants. Although we will miss them, we wish them well and know just how blessed is Pensacola MCC. We are happy for them as they
begin "trying it on".

For those suffering, lost, confused, homeless, hungry, afraid, battling disease, recovering, we ask that you place your healing hands upon them, be merciful unto them, heal and comfort them. Special care is needed for all those children being dumped like garbage into our country. Alone, no parents, hot, thirsty, hungry, frightened, unsure of their futures, they wait until our politicians decide their fate. Meanwhile, the politicians are sitting in luxury, sipping their martinis and waiting for their hot tubs to heat and their call-girls to arrive. Or, maybe, just fighting amongst themselves. God, please help us!

Special care is needed for our sisters and brothers, Dotty, Margaret, Lester, Barbara H.

Join with me in a moment of silent, personal prayer then the singing of the Lord's Prayer. Amen

I am a Deacon in my church and my duties include prayer leading. For Prayers of the People, the Deacons must write a prayer and lead the congregation in this prayer time. This prayer is one I have written for his Sunday's service. I talk to God a lot. . .He understands my language. Thanks to VMARGUARITE for the picture, "Power of Prayer".
