Pain left cold

Tribute To My Friend Bobby

by Walter L. Jones

My mind was screaming in pain
My last bottle poured down the drain
My bottle of pills gone again

She wiped me with life and tears
Kept me from the blood
Strong was the fear

In a corner of a room known for love
She fed me with her body
Gave me a son

Time fills the corners
In a picture born
Middle canvas yearns

River turns hearts clean
Window dreams
Sun beams break dust done

She wiped my feet with perfume
Longing in soft oil flair
Just a giving of soul bare

In the final tapestry
A woven life to see
Woman oh woman
Why did you pick me

1964, Vietnam, a French painter, met up with me again in 1968, usa, a young woman helped him develop his skills, we wrote and sang and drank, they have now both passed, for Bobby their son
