Thank you to Angelheart for the loan of the artwork "Owner Of A Broken Heart"
An Italian sonnet is 14 lines long and written in iambic pentameter.
The octet (first eight lines) use a rhyme scheme of abbaabba and the closing sextet (last six lines) can use a variety of rhyming schemes, I chose cdecde.
There is a turn in the ninth line, but an Italian sonnet does not have a closing couplet.
