Beware Tonight

by w.j.debi

Beware tonight of fairy light's mystique.
Oh, watch for strangers lurking in disguise.
A changeling child is what the fairies seek.
They'll snatch the rocking cradle's precious prize.

Oh, watch for strangers lurking in disguise.
Secure your doors and windows. Lock them tight.
They'll snatch the rocking cradle's precious prize,
unnoticed, while you're sleeping in the night.

Secure your doors and windows. Lock them tight.
For when you least suspect, they're creeping in
unnoticed. While you're sleeping in the night,
a fiendish imp's left where your child had been.

Beware tonight of fairy light's mystique.
A changeling child is what the fairies seek.
