Inspired by the Passover Eve killing spree in Kansas
The Cost of Liberty
by LateBloomer
I've shed my tears, but the rain keeps coming.
I've asked why, but the answers are numbing. Violent acts of hate continue to thrive. Victims lie dead while their families cry. Our Government states that hate is a crime. Yet killing continues as church bells chime. Coffins are lowered into sacred grounds, And sobbing hearts shroud all triumphant sounds. Still the hooded men continue to meet. The Government stands back quiet and meek. They watch and they wait for bodies to fall. Then clean them up like it's nothing at all. If hate is a crime, why let these men meet? Their liberties mean ... man dies in defeat. |
