Picture On The Wall

by Walter L. Jones

Well they say that I am dreamer
That the world has not been good to me
And I reach for bottle
And the end I do see

Got flat bottom out on the back water
Got a bobber floating free
And knot in my heart
Wondering where you will be

So the world is but a travel
So sad that I pray to see
A moment when we loved
And you set my spirit free

Now the dreamer counts all the flowers
As death knocks at his door
And floor of loving
Dreams no more

I was out in the shadows
In range known valley of death
Threw a rock
It measured life's success

Well they say that I am dreamer
Left on a key board of strife
That world has not been good to me
Don't tell that to my wife
And I reach for bottle
Pills of every kind
And the end I do see
But I am still holding on to my mind

So here is to the dreamer
May his heart
Be near to the fire
Counting his blessing
Lost in her desire
