A sad song
Blue Moons and Teardrops
Sad Love Songs Contest Winner
In the green fields of France, where the poppies there glance,
At a sky drenched in clouds, full of tears.
Broken hearts come to weep, by the poppies that sweep,
Across fields paved with lost volunteers.
In the autumn it's said, where a tree laid its bed.
And a mother collapsed to the ground.
All the tears she had shed, slowly trickled, then bled
To the coffin, her love never found.
On this sad afternoon, after sunset, the moon
Was seen waving goodbye to the sea.
As the mother sat crying, beside her, there lying,
the lover she kept secretly.
He whispered her name, saying "You're not to blame."
As the moon rose above up ahead.
Without words she then claimed,
As her head fell in shame, "My Sea of Tranquility's Dead."
Write a sad love song that rhymes.
